Hesston's two-hour telecast will begin with a 30-minute segment called "Prorodeo Countdown to Glory," high- lighting action from the first nine performances of the NFR. The remaining hour- and-a-half of the show will carry the same-day action of the exciting final NFR per- formance. Many of the World Championships, including the All-Around Cowboy, will be decided during this perfor- mance. Recognized as the "World Series" or "Super Bowl" of Prorodeo, the NFR climaxes the nearly 600 rodeos sanc- tioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association during 1984. At the NFR, the top 15 money winners for the year in the six standard Prorodeo events will vie for the world championship titles and a por- tion of the largest purse in rodeo history. The 1984 tele- cast will carry bareback bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, calf roping, and bull riding. Women's Professional Rodeo Association barrel racing will also be featured.
