business for the meeting
was Craft Day, Oct. 19.
Following the business
meeting Lucy Wiley gave
the interesting lesson on
Rheumatic Heart Disease
and Congenital Heart De-
fects. The;~ meeting was ad-
journed and we were served
refreshments. Our next
meeting will be Oct. 18 with
Viola Bunch. The roll will
be a safety slogan.

And Authorizing The Issu-
ance Of General Obligation
Bonds In The Sum Of

City At Large, To Provide
Funds With Which To Pay
The City's Share Of The
Cost Thereof, Under Author-
Ity Of Section 12-619 Of The
1965 Supplement To The
Kansas Statutes Annotated.
WHEREAS, in the judg-
ment of the Governing Body
of the City of Mankato, Jew-
ell County, Kansas, it is
deemed necessary and for
the best interests of the City
that its existing mare sewer
be extended from intersec-
tion East Street and Jeff-
erson Street to serve John-
son Addition; and,
WHEREAS, preliminary
plans and specifications
therefor have been approved
by the Governing Body and
the cost thereof determined
to be $18,050.00; and.
WHEREAS, the City has
been awarded a grant from
the Federal Government to
pay a portion of the cost of
said sewer construction; and,
WHEREAS, the City has
no funds available for the
payment of the City's share
of the cost of constructing

Section 1. That to pay the
cost of the main sewer from
intersection East Street
and Jefferson Street to serve
Johnson Addition, in the
City of Mankato, Jewell
County, Kansas, there shall
be issued General Obliga-
tion Bonds (Sewer), Series
1966-3, in the sum of
$10,000.00, which said issue
shall consist of 10 bonds,
numbered from ,1 to 10, both
inclusive, in the denomina-
tion of $1000.00 each, be
dated October 1, 1966, bear-
ing interest at the rate of
4½°/o per annum - payable
April l, 1968, and semi-an-
nually thereafter on the first
days of October and April of
each year until said principal
sum shall have been paid,
and said bonds shall mature
in the folh)wing amounts,
upon the following dates, to-

WHEREAS, Pursuant to
the provisions of K. S. A.
Article 12 of Chapter 10,
and amendments thereto,
the Governing Body of the
Mayor and City Clerk, and City of Mankato, Jewell
both principal and interest County, Kansas, heretofore,
shall be payable at the office on the 20th day of May,
of the State Treasurer of the
State of Kansas, in the City
of Topeka, Kansas.
Section 4. The Mayor and
City Clerk are hereby au-
thorized to prepare and exe-
cute said bonds and cou-
pons, and when so executed,
said bonds shall be register-
ed as required by law, and
the Governing Body shall
annually make provision for
the payment of the principal
and interest of said bonds as
the same shall become due
by levying a tax upon all
the taxable property of said
City.
Section 5. That all ordi-

does not exceed the sum of
$150,000.00; and,

sary at this time that said
City of Mankato, Jewell
County, Kansas proceed
forthwith to issue, sell and
deliver its Waterworks
Plant and System Revenue
Bonds, Series 1966-2, in the
principal sum of $150,000.00,
for the purpose of paying
the, cost of making said en-
largement, extension and im-
provement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE
IT ORDAINED BY THE
GOVERNING BODY OF
THE CITY OF MANKATO,
JEWELL COUNTY, KAN-
SAS:
Section 1. That for the
purpose of providing funds
to pay the cost of enlarging,
extending and improving
the municipally owned Wa-
terworks Plant and System
of the City of Mankato, Je-
well County, Kansas, by en-
larging, extending and im-
proving the water transmis-
sion lines, constructing and
installing water storage fa-
cility, and doing all things
necessary and incidental
thereto, there shall be issu-
ed. and hereby are issued,
Waterworks Plant and Sy-
corporate seal affixed, and
the interest coupons shall be
signed with the facsimile
signatures of said Mayor
and City Clerk, and said fac-
simile signatures are hereby
confirmed and ratified as
interest shall be payable at
the office of the State Trea-
surer of the S~te of Kansas,
in the City of Topeka, Kan-
sas.
Section 5. That said bonds
are to be sold and the pro-
ceeds therefrom to be used
only to pay the cost of the
enlargement, extension and
improvement hereinbefore

Section 6. The Mayor and
City Clerk are hereby au-
thorized and directed to pre-
pare and execute the bonds

when duly executed and re-
gistered, to deliver said
bonds to BEECROFT, COLE
& COMPANY, 117 West 6th
