Peggy Thompson and Edna Fo o attended the graduation and reception of Dustin Ault. The Fogo Reunion is at the White Rock High School, May 26. Vacation Bible School will be held at the Northbt:anch Friends Church, next week. The schedule will be Thurs- day, May 30, 5-8 p.m.; Satur- day, June 1, 9-2 p.m.; Mon- day, June 3, 5-8 p.m.; and Thursday, June 6, 5-8 p.m. with a program to follow. William & Twila Cool went to Hampton where they visited with Mrs. Glenn Cool and Morgan Marie. Later the Cools went on to York and visited Carla Green. Lions Steak Fry Don Bigham was chef for the Lions Steak Fry for their spouses/relatives May 14. A short business meeting fol- lowed. They set Sept. 8 for the watermelon feed. Progressive Study Club GFWC of Kansas Progres- sive Study Club met May 16 with Mrs. G.L. Barrett with the theme" Caring for OlderAmeri- cans." Mrs. E.M. Griffitts gave a paper on crime prevention. Mrs. C.E. Vetter noted tips for older citizens and gave pam- phlets on safety. 1996-97 officers, Mrs. Vetter, Mrs. R. L. Sheahan and Mrs. Dan Peters were installed by Barrett using keys. Retiring officers were .thanked for their work. Mrs. A.j. Baxa conducted the business opening with a poem and song. Roll call was answered with an older citizen who has influenced our life. Achievement awards were shown. Lesley McCollough, Holly Kadel and Ivy Howland received .credit slips at the music auditions. They will per- form at the Kadel piano recital June 6. The club hosts this as the Silver Tea for Music Tal- ent. It was approved to pur- chase more paint for the fire plugs and to decorate the store windows soon.
