1 i-fUR SDAY, MAY 7 :I Mrs. Vachal Crawford Mrs. Eugene Dunstan. Eric .and Angela attended a "come as you are" coffee at Mrs. Laverne Dcmpscy's Wcdnes day morning. Mrs. Robert Iloel entertained ber Coffee Club at her home Thursday morning. Mrs. Leo Sheahan entertain- ed the Chesebro Club Thursday afternoon with nearly all of l, he members present. It was our Mother's Day' meeting with Ira Lea Payne in charge of a very lovely Mother's D;~y pro- gram. We had a lovely shower for Joan Sheahan. The two invited guests were Mrs. Kim- minau and daughter of Super- ior. We also enjoyed a Moth- er's Day gift exchange. A love ly lunch Was served. Our next r~eeting will be in two weeks With Mrs. Louella Snyder. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Robbins spent Thursday night and Fri- Mr. and Mrs. Lee l)avidson of Alliance. Nebr, and Mr. Wendell Davidson of OUawa spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Dunstan and family. Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Blachly of Pratt spent Saturday nighl with her brother. Mr. Vaehel Crawford, and Mrs. Crawford. Brenda Reece of Manhattan spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Reece. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Payne and family entertained the fol lowing to supper on Sunday ev- ening in honor of Mother's and Mrs. Vernon Quy and fam- ily, Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Stansbury and son. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stansbury and fam- ily, Mr. and Mrs. flank Piper and son. Mrs. Ronald Payne and Mrs. Eugene Dunstan attended a pot luck supper at the home of Mrs, Shirley Free on Thurs- {Igy evening. The supper con- sisted of foreign dishes. Mr. Raymond Joerg and Mr. Vachel Crawrord attended a co-op meeting in Mankato on Mrs. Crawford. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Robbins were Sunday diner guests of I Mr.so~IsrandandMrs.Mrs.LyleHaHan Blachlylrllnn arid and Mr. and Mrs. Vachel Crawford attended church at the Lutheran Church in Scan- dia on Sunday. They were pre- sent to attend the Crawford's ~.~randson. Gordon Berry's, con firmation into the Lutheran Church. They were dinner ~.uests of Mr. and Mrs. Max Berry and sons. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Kohls and children of Salina. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Smith and Mrs. Emma Crawford. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Reece and family called on her par- ems. Mr. and Mrs. Rollo Stone in Superior Sunday afternoon. Mrs, Wilbur Obert Another half inch rain in this area Sunday. The Esbon Grade School put on their play Friday night and they were very entertaining and well presented under the able supervision of Mr. Virgil Wiebe. The annual Athletic Banquet at Esbon High School was held Tuesday evening. This is the first year both the parents of the boys and the girls were guests. They had a lovely ban- quet and everyone hearing Mr. Jack Parr's talk thought it timely, appropriate, sincere. and inspirational. Now it's uD to each of us to do our best as parents and each athlete to do his best to improve the school's athletic and academic program Lo have better citi- zens ['or our community. This Tuesday night is the anual Style Show at the high school showing the Home Eco- nomics sewing of the year un- der the supervision of Mrs. Dwight Frost, Itome Ec. teach- er. We had four sheep Mmarers here Saturday and they started at 9:00 and finished at 7:00 shearing 395 sheep with an hour off for dinner and coffee in the afternoon.
